Rick Kelsey started his presenting career in 2006 at Global Radio and has since worked as a reporter and presenter for talkSPORT, IMG and Times Radio, with over 12 years spent working for the BBC on their World Service and Newsbeat, and across other radio, TV and online programmes.
As well as the BBC podcast Newscast, Rick has been involved in a number of other podcasts and YouTube channels. Along with paediatric doctor Sarah Blackstock, Rick created and presented 16 episodes of Crib Notes, a podcast discussing the things “parents google at 3am”, from paediatric medicine, behaviour, nutrition and screen time. He has also contributed to the BBC Business Daily (2022) podcast where he discussed solar power and whether solar panels are the solutions to the UK’s energy crisis.
He also runs The Running Channel on YouTube; with over 560,000 subscribers and 41 million views, it is one of the fastest growing channels in Europe. The aim of the channel is to bring content to those who love to run, whether that be a slow socialising run in a park or an enthusiastic marathon runner.
In addition to his online programmes, Rick has been involved in a number of BBC documentaries, including the popular Addicted to… (2015) series which investigated people who confess to being addicted to things such as dating apps, protein supplements, workouts, alcohol and online porn.
He is a popular interviewer, and has held Q&As with the likes of Prime Ministers, other political figures including the London Mayor, footballers, football managers and Hollywood actors.
Rick has written hundreds of articles for the BBC print and online publications on topics including green energy (he is particularly interested in hydrogen, solar and wind power), women’s safety, delivery services, cybercrime, football and sport in general, personal finance, pensions and saving money and unemployment, amongst other topics.
