Mind Over Mountains Mental Heath Talks with Alex Staniforth at Great British Speakers

The importance of mental well-being in the workplace is rising high on the agenda.

Almost 15% of people experience mental health problems in the workplace with 12.7% of all sickness absence days taken in the UK can be attributed to mental health conditions. Better mental health support in the workplace could save UK businesses up to £8 billion a year.

As businesses inevitably feel the pressure to support their employees well-being, it can be hard to know which of the possible initiatives will make a lasting impact. We believe this shouldn’t be a box-ticking exercise and provide a unique opportunity to directly support employees.

There’s a compelling case for investing in early intervention and prevention. Deloitte pointed to as much as 9:1 ROI on an enterprise-wide approach of mental health interventions at work.

For a low-cost investment businesses can fund places on our events for colleagues struggling with existing mental health conditions, or who would benefit from early intervention and extra support. Bursary places can also be funded to provide a wider CSR and community benefit.
