Andrew Scott is a globally recognised serial entrepreneur, CEO and expert on leadership, business strategy, marketing and personal development.
He is one of the UK’s leading entrepreneurs and business experts, with an incredibly powerful story that will leave people on the edge of their seats, inspired, and full of hope.
Andrew grew up on the back streets of Belfast during the ‘Troubles’ in Northern Ireland, and at 4 years old, he survived the Abercorn atrocity, when Irish terrorists set off a bomb in a packed city-centre restaurant.
After five years of recovery, both physically and mentally, Andrew left Ireland at 18 to start a new life in London. He vowed to turn his trauma into a purpose to live life at the highest level and help others do the same.
Andrew went on to become a self-made millionaire, entrepreneur, investor, advisor and founder.
With unique insights and decades of real-world experience as an entrepreneur, CEO and advisor across multiple industries, Andrew has developed a powerful blueprint for extraordinary success.
Andrew Scott has built, acquired, or exited 10+ companies. In 2023, he sold his high-profile media company, Business Leader, to Richard Harpin, the tycoon who built and sold Homeserve PLC for £4.1 billion.
Having already mentored over 1,000 entrepreneurs, he is now on a mission to help many achieve massive success. As chairman and CEO of the Ascot Group, he has scaled three start-up ventures into seven-figure companies, generating over £70m in revenue while building a multi-million property portfolio.
Andrew has worked with some of the UK’s most influential business, government and education leaders.
Through his media company, he has partnered with famous business celebrities, Dragon’s Den stars, billionaires and some of the most successful business leaders in the world.
As the founder of Business Leader Magazine, a media company he launched in 2012 and successfully exited in 2023, Andrew built an extensive network of influential figures across the UK.
The network includes leading voices in business, education, and government, as well as a vast community of over 100,000 CEOs, business owners, and directors both nationally and internationally. His ability to connect with key stakeholders and foster impactful relationships underscores his reputation as a leader in the media and business sectors.
Along the way, Andrew has experienced some great business successes and some failures, too -in 2004, he lost everything, ending up in a small flat with £116,000 in credit card debt and an old car with 250,000 miles on the clock.
Refusing to give up, Andrew soon bounced back, launching a business and growth consultancy, Purplex. Twenty years later, it is a global marketing agency and part of Andrew’s Ascot Group, employing nearly 100 people.
Over the next three years, he clocked up 250,000 miles in his trusted BMW before it finally gave out and was taken away for scrap.
In a near-cinematic twist, nearly two decades later, Andrew spotted the car still on the roads, now driven by a retired construction worker. After months of negotiation, Andrew bought it back for £3,000 – ten times its worth.
With 335,000 miles on the clock, Andrew decided to restore the car to its former glory. The vehicle is now an integral part of his mission to inspire the next generation of entrepreneurs.
Andrew uses the car to show that rock bottom can be the foundation for incredible success. The restored car is more than just a symbol of personal achievement – it’s a mobile mentoring station where Andrew transforms lives.
Andrew teaches that failure and setbacks are only moments in time.
Andrew is deeply committed to supporting charities and fostering a culture of giving back. Over the years, he has helped raise significant funds – amounting to hundreds of thousands of pounds – for various charitable causes. This commitment extends to his leadership as a Trustee of Somewhere to Go, a homelessness charity based in Weston-super-Mare, which provides essential support and resources for vulnerable individuals in the community.
His involvement highlights his dedication to addressing critical societal issues like homelessness and poverty
Furthermore, Andrew has implemented a “giving back” program within his businesses, allowing employees to dedicate one day each month to volunteer or contribute to charitable activities. This initiative reinforces his belief in corporate social responsibility and demonstrates his effort to embed philanthropy within his professional endeavors
Today, he is an in-demand authentic leader and speaker who has “been there and done it.” Andrew often addresses modern marketing strategies, leadership, and entrepreneurship topics.
His ability to translate his real-world successes – such as founding and scaling the Ascot Group and creating a portfolio of influential businesses – into actionable insights makes his talks highly impactful.
He draws on his journey of building businesses from the ground up, navigating challenges, and fostering a culture of growth and responsibility.
His influence is complemented by his advisory roles, where he supports other businesses and ventures.
In 2017, Andrew received the prestigious Director of the Year Award for Corporate Social Responsibility from the Institute of Directors, a testament to his commitment to ethical business practices and community engagement.
The following year, his company solidified its influence by becoming an official partner of Inspire, the organisation responsible for delivering the renowned Goldman Sachs 10,000 Small Businesses program.
Andrew has also contributed his expertise to several key organisations. He has served on the Chamber of Commerce committee and London’s Marketing Council of the Glass and Glazing Federation (GGF).
He has held numerous non-executive board and committee positions and is actively involved in charitable and community work.
