As well as winning three BAFTA’s for I’m Alan Partridge and The Thick Of It, Armando Iannucci OBE has also been nominated and won a host of other awards for his talent.
Armando received an ‘Outstanding Comedy Series’ nomination at the Emmy Awards for Veep in 2012. He also has won a Special Jury British Comedy Award for his distinctive contribution to radio and television.
Armando is also a successful director, having directed his own feature film In the Loop, which premiered at the prestigious Sundance Film Festival in 2009.
As well as directing the film, Armando co-wrote the script with Jesse Armstrong. The film starred Peter Capaldi and James Gadolfini and received an Oscar nomination for Best Adapted Screenplay at the 82nd Academy Awards in 2010.
