Bear Grylls’ Emmy-nominated show Man Vs Wild (2006-) became one of the most-watched programmes on the planet with an estimated global audience of 1.2 billion. Bear then progressed to US television, hosting the hit adventure show Running Wild (2014-) on NBC, where he has taken some of the best known stars on incredible adventures, including the likes of President Barack Obama, Roger Federer, Julia Roberts, Kate Winslet and Will Ferrell.
He is also the co-producer, and narrator, of the BAFTA award-winning The Island with Bear Grylls (2014-) on Channel 4, a format which has sold across the globe from the USA to Spain and the Netherlands. In addition, he produces and hosts Bear’s Mission With… (2017-2018) for ITV and Absolute Wild (2017) for Dragon TV in China.
Bear has also been used in a number of TV campaigns and adverts for the UK Ministry of Defence and Harrods. He is a regular contributor to This Morning (1988-) and has been a guest on shows including Friday Night with Jonathan Ross (2001-2010), The Oprah Winfrey Show (1986-2011), Jimmy Kimmel Live! (2003-) and Piers Morgan’s Life Stories (2009-2021).
BEAR GRYLLS AS CHIEF SCOUT AND CHARITY WORK
Bear is currently the youngest ever Chief Scout to the UK Scout Association, acting as the figurehead to over 40 million Scouts worldwide. He was named Honorary Lieutenant Commander in the Royal Naval Reserve in 2004, and Honorary Colonel to the Royal Marines Reserves in 2013.
He is passionate about using his profile to help charities and has worked with the likes of the Prince’s Trust, Care for Children, Global Angels, RNLI, SSAFA Forces Help, Hope and Homes for Children and the Duke of Edinburgh Award.

He has authored over 75 books for adults, young adults and children, including his number one bestselling autobiography Mud, Sweat and Tears (2011), which was also voted China’s most influential book of the year for young people, and spent 15 weeks at number one in the Sunday Times bestseller list.
He has written nine non-fiction and three fiction books for adults, three for young adults, 42 non-fiction and 12 fiction books for children. These include his popular Survival Skills series for young children as well as a number of environmental activity books.
