Cally Beaton is a business leader, podcaster, performer and entrepreneur. She has held senior management positions at some of the biggest media companies in the world.
Early in her career she headed an independent television production company that was bought by ITV, and went on to find herself the youngest and only female member of the board.
She left to set up an award-winning creative consultancy company, Road Trip Media, and went on to do a 10 year stint as Senior Vice President at the US studio giant ViacomCBS. There, Cally oversaw a multi-million dollar budget for brands including Nickelodeon, MTV, Comedy Central and Paramount.
If you want someone to blame for bringing South Park and SpongeBob SquarePants to the world, you need look no further.
Her honesty, humour, and experience make Cally Beaton one of the most sought-after keynote and after-dinner speakers and accomplished events host.
Cally Beaton had a bit of a strange upbringing – as both of her parents taught at an all-boys boarding school, it made sense for her to study there, making her the only girl in an all-boys school. She went on to graduate from Goldsmiths in English and Drama, and also gained a Master Practitioner qualification in Neuro-linguistic Programming.
Before Cally became the successful stand-up comedian she is today, she held numerous positions in large media companies. Early on in her career, she found herself being the youngest, and only female, member on the board of a TV production company that ITV had bought. This gave her the experience and the knowledge to go it alone, and she set up the creative consultancy company Road Trip Media. She also spent a decade as a Senior Vice President at the US studio ViacomCBS, where she oversaw a budget of $500 million for channels including Comedy Central, MTV, Nickelodeon, and Paramount, and was instrumental in getting South Park and SpongeBob SquarePants onto our TV screens.
It was whilst working for Comedy Central that she decided to give stand-up comedy a try. And she was an instant hit, cementing her position as one of the most exciting stand-up comedians in the UK.
She has since performed at the Edinburgh Fringe Festival, gaining four and five-star reviews and winning the Piccadilly Comedy Club New Comedian Of The Year award for 2017/18.
Her comedic talents have seen Cally appear on numerous popular entertainment shows, including QI (2018-2023), The Apprentice: You’re Fired (2022-2023), Pointless Celebrities (2022), Richard Osman’s House of Games (2022), Steph’s Packed Lunch (2020), The Blame Game (2019), and Live at the Apollo (2022). She has also appeared across radio networks, including BBC Radio 4, BBC Radio 6, Times Radio, Radio 5 Live, and BBC Radio London.
She has also written for The Guardian, The Financial Times and The Scotsman.
In 2021, Cally launched her podcast – Namaste Motherf**kers, combining comedy, business, and self-help. Guests have included Daliso Chaponda, Deborah Meaden, Johnnie Walker, Philippa Perry, Reverend Richard Coles, Rosie Jones, Sally Phillips, Stephen K Amos, Stuart Heritage, Tom Read Wilson, and Zoe Lyons.
Cally is one of the most in-demand keynote speakers, and event hosts around the world. She is highly skilled, versatile, funny, and down-to-earth and makes for the most entertaining addition to any event.
