Carl Nasman

Carl Nasman is a TV news anchor and correspondent with over a decade of experience in presenting, hosting and reporting. He’s currently an anchor and correspondent with BBC News in Washington, D.C., covering global affairs, US politics, and breaking news.

Carl also specializes in climate change. He has hosted Future Earth, a special BBC News programme focusing on climate solutions, and contributes to the BBC’s weekly climate newsletter.

He has anchored live coverage from the UN Climate Change Conference, where he covered international negotiations and interviewed climate innovators like Bill Gates.

Carl hosted the opening ceremony of Climate Week in New York City and a unique live forum in Washington featuring BBC Media Action and USAID. He has served as emcee for multiple occasions, including climate and technology award ceremonies.

Previously, Carl worked as an anchor, correspondent, and digital presenter for DW in Germany and NBC News in London.

Fluent Spanish and German speaker, Carl has reported, filmed and edited video stories for multiple outlets, including AJ+, Time.com, Wall Street Journal and Global Post.
He was also a host on DW-TV’s 24/7 English-language news channel, hosting primetime shows including The Day, which airs on PBS in the US and partner stations around the globe.  As a senior correspondent for DW’s digital video team, he produced social-first stories that explain the trends behind the news. As a reporter for the digital series Follow the Hashtag, he was nominated for a 2016 European Digital Media Award.
Furthermore, he has reported, produced, and edited feature stories for PBS’s national TV news programme. These include military war games training in San Diego and the dental health crisis among children in El Salvador. Carl has also worked as a documentary correspondent for DW, including the reporter-driven series Life Links, which features young people overcoming obstacles around the world.
