Chelsie Giles is an Olympic medal-winning judoka, taking home a Bronze at the 2020 Tokyo Games.
As well as this, she also holds over 25 other medals from World and European Championships, Judo Masters, Grand Slams and the Grand Prix, all in the under 52kg weight class.
In 2022, Giles became world number one for the first time, won World Championship silver and was crowned European champion.
Chelsie is one of five British judokas who will compete at the Olympics in Paris 2024. She heads to France in great form, having reached the podium in seven of the 10 Grand Slam events she has entered since Tokyo. She competed in Paris and unfortunately lost in the second round.
With a reputation for performing at her very best when it really matters most, she thrives in the role of the underdog.

Growing up, Chelsie Giles was more interested in swimming, dancing, and gymnastics, but it was after watching her brother take part in a judo class that she became involved. Due to a timetable issue at age 13, Chelsie was forced to choose between her beloved gymnastics, or continuing with judo. She chose the latter and she has been rising through the ranks ever since.
Aged 18, she made her international debut at the Junior World Championships and European Cup, and the medals started coming in thick and fast, culminating in the bronze medal she won at the 2020 Tokyo Olympic Games – which incidentally was Team GB’s first medal at those Games.
