As the CEO, Artistic Director, and Founder of Impact Dance, a nationally recognized art-for-social change organization and Hip-Hop Theatre company based in their new studio on Shaftesbury Avenue in London, Hakeem empowers young people between the ages of 11-19 to become the best versions of themselves through the medium of dance.

Hakeem’s formative years laid the foundation for his extraordinary career. After graduating with a biochemistry degree from the University of Hull, he embarked on his journey by starting to teach dance at the central London Dance Studio, Danceworks in 1995. Over the past 28 years, he has not only exhibited a natural gift for connecting with people but has also built one of the most successful arts organizations in London—currently a national portfolio organization funded by Arts Council England.
Hakeem Onibudo has carved a niche for himself as a dynamic and empowering motivational speaker. Armed with a compelling personal story and a charismatic stage presence, he has motivated audiences globally. In 2009 Hakeem was awarded the Cultural Leadership International bursary by the British Council, which led to him connecting cross-cultural methodologies with countries including Hong Kong, Venezuela, Zimbabwe, Tunisia, Uganda and Tanzania to name a few.
In 2017 Hakeem was awarded the title of Changemaker at the London Contemporary Dance School/The Place by Arts Council England, where his remit was to increase the diversity of the aforementioned organisation’s audiences, workforce and organisational culture.
