A former Psychology teacher, she also has significant central government experience, including working as a Civil Servant at the Cabinet Office, an MBA and for PA Consultancy Group. She served as a Magistrate for the Westminster and Central London Bench.

Since 2009, Helen has been at Agencia, working alongside her father and sister in the family firm. Agencia deliver sustainable, beneficial and meaningful change to organisations both in the UK and internationally.

With a focus on changing lives for the better, Helen Gibson has been involved in reforming government judicial capabilities, transforming healthcare services and developing integrated strategies for organisations, as well as improving communities. Helen’s values-drive leadership is demonstrated in the doubling of turnover in her time at the helm.

Helen is a mentor delivering the Cherie Blair Foundation Women in Business programme, a consultant and coach to a portfolio of clients and is sought for the role of non-executive director by organisations wanting to learn from her success and experience.

Helen performs a variety of voluntary roles, including being appointed by the Department of International Trade for six years running as a Northern Powerhouse Export Champion and sitting on a Department for Business and Trade national policy group to give an SME perspective on free trade agreements that are being negotiated.

This session is for anyone in need of encouragement and is about how to encourage yourself through life’s porridge and get more goosebump moments.  Life can feel heavy-going as we live through a mental health emergency, the challenging backdrop of covid, cost of living crisis, climate crisis and increasing global conflict and insecurity.

Now more than ever, we all need encouragement and are desperate to get help, inspiration, and joy from wherever we can find it.  Yet, this is at a time when many of us may feel unable to get the encouragement we need from our usual sources of family, friends, and colleagues, because they’re struggling too.  With encouragement to help us through anything from the darkest seasons of our life to our everyday ‘meh’ times, this session offers an uplifting input to help us encourage ourselves when the going gets tough.

Drawing on her soon to be published book ‘Go for Goosebumps!’ Helen will share a collection of advice, observations, inspiration, notes, lists, thoughts, and stories.  These are drawn from her business experience of working on the frontlines of health, justice, and international development in almost 30 countries, many of which are in the world’s trouble spots.

From modern-day issues such as terrorism, corruption, cybercrime, pandemics, addiction and migration, the work of her company has affected thousands of people around the world by delivering meaningful, sustainable, and beneficial change.  Inspired by this work, Helen’s session will provide self-soothing practical suggestions, words of encouragement and different perspectives from her book; all things she feels compelled to share, knowing that they will help others in the way that they have helped her.
