Jeff Dewing is not your typical speaker. He’s an International Energiser, Founder and CEO of Cloud and author of the bestselling business book Doing the Opposite, where he underpins his philosophy that the best solution is often not the obvious one. By doing the opposite of the expected, you can generate astounding results.
His journey to success is a testament to this belief. Jeff’s first business went bankrupt, leaving only £7.60 in his bank account, while also relying on benefits. Jeff refused to give up. Instead, he turned his life around, learnt to code and started Cloud from his garden shed. He built it from the ground up to a £70M turnover without a penny of investment. Jeff has since worked with some of the world’s biggest brands, including Tui, Pizza Express, Chiltern Railways and The Rank Group.
In a landscape where businesses seek a catalyst for change, Jeff uses his decades of lived leadership experience to shake things up, reignite passion and challenge leaders to rethink their ways of working.
Jeff does things differently. For instance, he gives his team two paid hours per week for reflection — a simple yet powerful practice that has improved employee wellbeing and doubled Cloud’s engagement levels compared to industry standards.
It’s not simply about driving success, Jeff aims to revitalise organisational cultures and energise teams through his ‘Doing the Opposite’ philosophy. If you’re ready to challenge the norms and embrace change, Jeff is the speaker you need.

Jeff Dewing left school at sixteen and worked his way up the ranks as an engineer, later establishing his own successful business, EAC. Unfortunately, the distraction caused by his investment in a Football Club led to the business’s bankruptcy. This taught him a crucial lesson: if you’re not passionate about what you’re doing, get out of it fast before it costs you.
Aged 39, he was bankrupt. In a matter of months, he saw his life collapse, from owning a multi-million-pound business and a football club to claiming benefits.
Undeterred by bankruptcy, Jeff realised he had much to learn and returned to the working world for the next ten years. He had turned his life around and started Cloud in 2011 from his garden shed. Cloud is projected to be valued at £250M by 2026.
Jeff believes leaders must let go to grow. He acknowledges that mistakes are inevitable, having lived through them himself, but instead of hindering success, they fueled his growth. Building a business around his passion, he now wakes up every day feeling as if he doesn’t work a day in his life.
Emerging as a sought-after speaker for international corporate events, Jeff not only entertains with candid anecdotes but offers practical takeaways that attendees can readily apply in their professional lives. Jeff’s job is to make you leave every talk or workshop punching the air, whether it’s a live or virtual event. Attendees will jump out of bed the next day, ready to take on the world armed with new perspectives, bundles of confidence and a desire to think big.

Wesley Baker (MIoD), CEO & Founder, Canterbury Ai Ltd
I have much admiration for him as a leader because he leads from the heart and soul and not by doing what everyone else is doing. That makes him crazy, authentic and effective–just two of his many qualities I admire.
Sheila Callaham Executive Director, Age Equity Alliance
Jeff Dewing’s session was extremely insightful and engaging. It made me rethink on some of the processes of how to engage employees.
Clifford Debono – CEO Creditinfo Malta
Today’s session with Jeff Dewing gave us a solid basis on which to re-develop our brand strategy and create a culture where the brand values are communicated and implemented. I will definitely put what I have learnt into practice.
Roberta Lepre – Managing Consultant Weave Consulting
One would expect to listen to exponential growth strategies which led to his success, however, Jeff instead focussed on the value of being surrounded by the right people in his business. He told the story of how he built a great team and how he maintains it, which all boils down to… “The way you make them feel” a.k.a CULTURE.
