Mark Brooks OBE is a leader in the fields of male health, inclusion, and domestic abuse, serving as a thought leader, commentator, speechwriter, presenter, spokesperson, and policy and communications adviser.
He was awarded an OBE in 2019 and an Honorary Doctorate (Doctor of Letters) in 2023. Mark also serves as a national ambassador for International Men’s Day in the UK, raising awareness of the challenges men and boys face in today’s society in the workplace and in their personal lives.
He delivers insightful and inspiring talks on a range of issues affecting men and boys, including supporting male wellbeing at work, being allies of men, men’s health, domestic abuse, suicide prevention, and boys’ education.
As a prominent figure in men’s health, inclusion, and domestic abuse, Mark was honoured with an OBE in 2019 and an Honorary Doctorate from the University of West London in 2023.
Originally from South East London/Kent, Mark was the first in his family to attend university. Over the past 25 years, he has built a successful communications and public policy career at the director level. He now focuses his expertise on men’s health, inclusion, and domestic abuse, addressing issues such as supporting male wellbeing at work, promoting male-positive communication campaigns, fostering allies for men, and tackling topics like men’s health, domestic abuse, suicide prevention, and boys’ education.
Mark is an authentic, personable, and down-to-earth speaker, allowing him to communicate effectively at all levels. His talks consistently receive positive feedback. He has been instrumental in the growth of the International Men’s Day platform in the UK, enabling him to discuss specific issues and broader topics such as International Men’s Day and the overall challenges facing men and boys in the UK today. He also serves as the Chair of the ManKind Initiative, the UK’s leading charity supporting male victims of domestic abuse.
Mark frequently speaks at conferences and appears in national media, advising various public bodies, think tanks, policymakers, government departments, academics, employers, and charities on the challenges facing men and boys.
