As well as running his own company, Mark Finnis has held various roles around the UK, including as the UK Assistant Director for the International Institute for Restorative Practices, a Restorative Practice Trainer for the NHS, and Consultant for County Councils including Walsall, Warwickshire, Lincolnshire, Gloucestershire, Middlesborough, Wolverhampton, Rotherham, Luton, and West Berkshire.
He has also advised on National Policy, and worked as Director of Training and Consultancy at the Hull Centre for Restorative Practice, where he helped the city achieve the position as the first restorative city in the world.
Mark is also the author of the popular non-fiction book, Independent Thinking on Restorative Practice: Building Relationships, Improving Behaviours, and Creating Empowering Teams and Organisational Culture (2021). In the book, Mark provides practical introduction to the use of restorative practice in educational settings. Since publication, is has appeared in the ‘Administration & Organisation in Education’, ‘Educational Strategies & Policies’, and ‘Care & Counselling in Education’ bestsellers lists on Amazon.
