Born with Cerebral Palsy which affects the movement of his leg muscles, Nicolas Hamilton was initially a wheelchair user and was told he would never walk.
Not one to be held back, he endured years of painful training, so that by the age of 17, he was walking completely unaided. It was then he started to realise his dream – to be a racing driver, like his half-brother, Formula One champion Lewis Hamilton.
With over half a million social media followers, Nicolas is very prominent in the media. He has appeared on the BBC, Sky Sports, ITV, BT Sport, and CNN, Good Morning Britain, The Wall, and The One Show.

Nicolas Hamilton has worked as a brand ambassador for Phillips 66, ROKit, PUMA Group, OneStream Software, Rated People, and Jewson; a partner for Ark Build Plc, and NGK Spark Plug; a Handling Consultant for Slightly Mad Studios, and a Sales Consultant, and Business Development Manager for BigChange.
In 2011, Nicolas featured in the BBC documentary, Racing With the Hamiltons: Nic in the Driving Seat, which reached over 2.1 million viewers in a single night.
Nicolas published his debut book, Now That I Have Your Attention: 7 Lessons in Leading a Life Bigger Than They Expect, in 2024, which showed that with self-discipline and self-compassion, anyone can defy their limitations. The book ended up on three Amazon bestseller lists: Racecar Driver Biographies, Formula One, and Athletics Biographies.
RACING CAREER
After getting to a stage where he could walk unaided, Nicolas turned his attention to racecar driving. In 2011, he was given the opportunity to race in the Renault Clio Cup series, proving to himself and the world, that a disabled driver can be just as competitive in an able-bodied sport. In 2015, he became the first disabled driver to compete in the British Touring Car Championships and helped inspire both able-bodied and disabled individuals around the world. He took part in the championships again in 2019.
In 2020, he was confirmed as the fourth Team HARD driver in a Volkswagen CC and in Round 2 of the championship, he scored his first ever BTCC points. In 2023, he scored his best finish in round 1 of the Championships, finishing P6 and smashing his own personal record, further raising the bar for disability in British motorsport.

Nicolas is now a popular keynote speaker, representing the millions of disabled people around the world who don’t have a voice. He uses his platform to help young people embrace their potential, whether disabled or not.

Breaking Down Barriers: Obstacles come in many forms, but no matter who you are, it is how you tackle these obstacles that matter. Nicolas gives an honest talk about how setbacks can be used to build strength and resilience.

– MINI: Host and presenter for the European Championships in Munich; striving for more inclusivity and making their cars accessible.
– Amazon Fresh: Amazon’s Valentine’s Day offers for their “The Extravagant Romantic” series. His final work was viewed over 700,000 times.
– Butternut Box: created content that drives awareness to the benefits of their freshly cooked dog food delivery service.
– Meta: Nicolas created a video to break down misconceptions around virtual reality. A second campaign was to promote an immersive home-based workout experience.
– HERA: promoting their AW22 fashion line.
– Openreach: supported their ‘Life’s easier with Ultrafast Broadband’ message.
– Fabletics: worked on a campaign to showcase their move into menswear.
– British Vogue: featured in their May 2023 issue on influential disabled individuals.
