Nina Warhurst’s love of journalism and politics started early; she took A-Levels in English Literature, History and Politics, before graduating with a first-class degree in History and Politics from the University of Edinburgh, and gaining a postgrad diploma in Broadcast Journalism from the University of Westminster.
Her first roles on screen were not as a presenter. Instead, she began her career as an actress, appearing in Casualty (1997), Heartbeat (1998) and Butterfly Collectors (1999).
Her journalism career began in Moscow, presenting for Russia Today, before joining the Guardian’s regional channel, Channel M, and then the BBC in 2010. She has since gone on to present for a variety of BBC channels and programmes, covering a wide range of topics from business to sport.
Nina is often seen presenting on location, anywhere from a factory to a farm to Downing Street; she has interviewed three UK Prime Ministers.
Her work has also seen her travel as far afield as Argentina, Azerbaijan, Brazil, Israel, Russia and the West Bank. She once became stranded with the Royal Navy off the coast of Libya when covering the fall of Colonel Gadaffi.
In 2023, she became the main host of BBC’s official Eurovision podcast, Eurovisioncast, alongside Eurovision 2015 winner Måns Zelmerlöw, BBC News Eurovision reporter Daniel Rosney, and BBC Radio Merseyside’s Ngunan Adamu. The podcast aims to give listeners the inside gossip on the competition, particularly regarding the unique experience the UK has in 2023 of hosting the event on behalf of Ukraine.
When she’s not at work, Nina is busy looking after her children, her cat, a house renovation, and a father with dementia.

Nina Warhurst is a popular business speaker and has had the honour of hosting and chairing a number of high-profile events, including the Foodservice Equipment Association Conference 2022 and at the 2019 Northern Leadership Awards.
Nina was the FEA conference chair and also delivered the closing session of our 2022 event, where we had 175 delegates. Her professional and friendly approach ensured that the day blended well for both the presenters and the audience; she seamlessly linked together the content which included a downbeat economic outlook, the negative effects of energy prices on business, diversity and inclusivity and also the connectivity of equipment and future developments. Her closing session provided a strong end to the day with a lovely finishing message to the delegates of…‘keep on smiling’.
