COOKING
Phil Vickery started his cooking career as a commis chef at the Burlington Hotel in Folkestone and made his way up the kitchen ranks up to head chef. He has worked in many restaurants and hotels, including Michael’s Nook hotel in Cumbria, Ian McAndrew’s Michelin started restaurant 74, and the Michelin starred Gravetyre Manor in East Grinstead.
He then became the Head Chef in Taunton’s The Castle Hotel, not only winning a Michelin Star, but also four AA Rosettes, and a plethora of industry accolades.
MEDIA
Phil has balanced his culinary career with his media career, often appearing as a celebrity chef on a range of programmes. His first appearance came on the Breakfast programme, filling in for Keith Floyd.
He has since appeared as a chef on Ready, Steady, Cook (2005-2010), Celebrity Masterchef (2011-2016), and This Morning (2000-2024). He fronted his own ITV shows – Phil Vickery’s Pudding Club, and Save Money: Good Diet, and has presented live cookery segments from around the world including Goa, Grenada, and the Great Barrier Reef.
Throughout his television career, he has filmed at the then Prince Charles’ organic Home Farm, covered British foods, kids cooking, Christmas food, the best of Europe’s food, al-fresco dining, easy cooking, and Easter foods. He has travelled as far and wide as Alaska, Anglesey, Bangkok, Cambodia, Cyprus, Florida, Gibraltar, Isles of Scilly, Israel, Jersey, Majorca, Malaysia, Singapore, Spain, Sri Lanka, St Lucia, Tenerife, Tunisia, and Vietnam.
