Reverend Kate is passionate about bringing stories of faith and belief to the widest audience possible, and can often be seen on the long-running religious show, Songs of Praise.

JOINING THE CHURCH
The Reverand Kate Bottley’s love affair with the church was peaked by her love for the vicar’s son, which threw her into the world of religion.
She studied secondary religious education with qualified teacher status in 1993, before training to be a religious education teacher in secondary schools. She remained a religious teacher up until 2005, and then trained for ordination by being a vicar’s PA at St Mark’s Church in Grenoside before studying at St John’s College in Nottingham.
Kate was ordained as a Church of England deacon in 2008 and as a priest the following year. She began working at St Andrew’s Church in Skegby in 2008, before becoming the chaplain to North Nottinghamshire College in 2011. She would go on to work at St Mary and St Martin’s Church, Blyth, an associate priest in the Retford Area Team Ministry, and become an honorary Canon of Southwell Minster.

Kate was fantastic and so personable. The members absolutely loved her and no task we asked of her was too much from announcing raffle tickets to taking selfies with the members. Our Facebook account has been inundated with wonderful comments and fabulous photos. Cheshire Federation of Women’s Institutes Annual Council Meeting
We chose Kate as the after dinner speaker for our Annual Institute Dinner. Throughout the evening Kate was absolutely fantastic, from speaking with top table guests before the meal to dancing with guests after her speech. Kate’s delivery was flawless, she engaged with everybody in the room and her speech was absolutely brilliant and had one or two people crying with laughter. I couldn’t recommend Kate more highly for any corporate events as her professionalism and humour couldn’t fail to disappoint. I would also highly recommend COBJ Management as they were extremely helpful throughout the entire process.
Middlesbrough CII Dinner in Middlesbrough
Kate certainly got our conference off to a positive and joy-filled start! As well as mingling with delegates on their arrival prior to her speech, she made time to chat to speakers and organisers afterwards, offering photos and smiles all round. Her energy, enthusiasm, honesty and seemingly endless raft of perfectly judged stories really did engage the delegates and provided the perfect bridge between passion for life more generally and renewed faith in our calling. Wit, intelligence and care seem to ooze from Kate and we would not hesitate to recommend her to others seeking a key note. She was only too willing to accommodate us on the pre-event conference call […] giving us her full attention and charm! Every aspect of her approach, both in the lead-up to and on the day itself, has been exemplary, and an inspiration to us all here at GSAL. Our memories of her words and her presence will certainly not fade quickly.

Autumn Conference for Derbyshire WI
Kate was absolutely brilliant!! She is so approachable. She went round the room speaking to the ladies before she did her ‘stuff’ which was entertaining from start to finish. She fulfilled our criteria of ‘Inspiring Women’ in spades. A lovely person with a huge personality.
