Rob Forkan
“Rob’s story is beyond humbling and one of the most inspiring stories I have ever heard.” – Sir Richard Branson
In 2004, Rob Forkan survived the Boxing Day Tsunami, saving his siblings but sadly losing both of his parents. His harrowing story of survival and subsequent mental health journey are deeply inspiring, and he now shares his unique views on resilience and overcoming adversity.
In 2012, he co-founded the company Gandys, a WGSN award-winning, socially-conscious fashion brand. Together, they have helped orphans from around the world with education, medication, and nutrition, as well as built campuses for underprivileged children.
He has worked with a number of famous brands including Liberty, McLaren, and the Rolling Stones, and has recently filmed documentaries for the 20th anniversary of the tsunami.
In 2014, Rob released his book Tsunami Kids, which detailed his survival of the boxing day tsunami and the founding of Gandys. He is currently working on the forthcoming self-help book, Treat Yourself.
