Sally Bee is an international motivational speaker, an author, broadcaster and survivor of five heart attacks.
Sally was only 36 years old when she experienced her first heart attack, an episode that started at a children’s birthday party where she suddenly felt extreme pain in her chest. Thinking she was too young to have a heart attack, the hospital sent her home with indigestion tablets.
Sadly, she had a further two heart attacks in the coming weeks and her family were advised to say their goodbyes due to the extensive damage caused to her heart. Having made a full recovery and worked hard on her mental wellbeing, Sally’s world was rocked again 12 years later in 2016, when she suffered two further heart attacks.
Having fought for her life five times, Sally knows the true meaning and importance of resilience and inner strength. What became patently clear to Sally was the need to strip away all the noise and meaningless distractions to gain clarity on what is really important in life, and this is something Sally shares in her inspiring talks.
Sally has appeared in print and broadcast media, is a healthy living expert for ITV and has published six books.
After the first heart attacks in 2004, Sally was filled with an all-consuming passion and desire to live and she fought for every second of her life, with the days turning to months and years. She had survived three heart attacks and she had worked on herself to replace fear with calmness. All was good in her world.
Sally’s world was again rocked in 2016 when she suffered two further heart attacks and the diagnosis of spontaneous coronary artery dissection (SCAD) – a rare heart condition that happens suddenly and without warning. Once again, Sally was full of determination to survive. She new she was meant to survive.
The following 12 months for Sally were challenging, with her once again riding the emotional roller-coaster, afraid of almost everything yet determined not to miss a thing. Having been through it before, she was able to apply what she had learned from her previous experience.
In the 12 years between the two episodes, Sally worked hard on her health and mental wellbeing. Sally has told her story across many different media platforms, has been interviewed on national tv and established herself as an international speaker.
In 2014, Sally joined ITV on The Lorraine Show as Nutritionist and Healthy Living Expert, sharing lots of healthy recipes, food ideas and how to live a healthy life, sharing what helped her recover from the first three heart attacks.
Sally has published seven books, with her most recent book Don’t Go Faster Than Your Guardian Angel Can Fly published in 2022. Prior to this Sally has authored six recipe books, including The Secret Ingredient, The Recipe for Life; and Have Your Cake and Eat it Too. She has also written After Your Heart Attack. A Guide to Getting Your Life Back.
In 2023, Sally launched her online magazine, which is about life, love and the universe for women over 40. The magazine contains articles on a range of topics, including travel, food, wellbeing, fashion, and culture. Since its launch in late 2023, the magazine has already been a big success being read by a large audience.
In 2023, Sally launched a six-part TV series titled Don’t Go Faster Than Your Guardian Angel Can Fly which she hosted with Nikki Pattison and guest psychologist Suzanne Brown. The 35 minute weekly show was filmed in front of a live studio audience and was about connection and community; empowerment, support and inspiration. The programmes shared real life stories, shared experiences and life lessons.
