Whilst The Mac Twins have featured on programmes including Sky News and Love Island Aftersun, they are best known for their 2023 series entitled Know Your Sh!t. With the aim to be fun and accessible, the show looks at what is normal and what isn’t about our bowels, as well as helping our overall health and well-being. Joined by a variety of medical experts, each episode looks at bowel-related complaints and how better gut health can improve overall health.
With their aim to bring gut health to the masses, The Mac Twins have produced two books, The Gut Stuff Book (2021) and The Gut Loving Cookbook (2022), both of which have made it onto Amazon bestseller lists. The Gut Stuff Book provides practical expert advice on achieving better gut health, finding itself on the ‘Preventive Medicine’ bestseller list, whereas the Cookbook provides over 65 gut-friendly savoury and sweet recipes. It would find itself on the bestseller lists for ‘Mind-Body Medicine’, ‘Medical Teaching Aids’ and ‘Preventive Medicine’.
They also bring their expertise on gut health and overall physical and mental well-being to their 38,000+ social media followers in an easy-to-understand format.

The Mac Twins’ have been interested in gut health and wellbeing for several years, starting in 2015 with their YouTube series, which looks into ‘the gut microbiome’ and genetic conditions.
From the success of the YouTube series, the Mac Twins founded ‘the gut stuff’ – an online platform to help people with their own gut issues, and via the platform offer workplace wellness talks where they discuss the links between workplace stress and gut distress. Their workplace wellness clients include: WWF, Genius Gluten Free and the Royal Air Force, just to name a few…
The lines between work/life balance have never been so blurred, which is why it’s is now the direct responsibility of employers to ensure their staff are not only focusing on their wellness, but are given access to other businesses, experts and information to help them do so.
Their expertise also saw them sit on the NHS Food Review Board and achieve B Corp status. They also have produced a collection of gut-friendly snack bars and a mobile app so everyone can easily get to know their gut better!
