Timothy Armoo has always been interested in business and technology, starting his first company Alpha Tutoring at just 14 years old. The business grew very quickly and within just six weeks he had over 65 tutors registered. His next business, EntrepreneurXpress, came when he was 17. This gave him the opportunity to interview business stars such as Alan Sugar and Richard Branson. He would go on to sell that company less than a year later to global agency Horizon Media.

It was during his second year at university studying computer science that he founded his next business, Fanbytes. Using data of over three million influencers, Fanbytes specialises in TikTok, Instagram, YouTube and Snapchat, and has helped brands including Samsung, Deliveroo, Mcdonald’s and Estee Lauder to win the hearts of Gen Z (10-25 year olds). Fanbytes become so successful that global media agency Brainlabs bought it in May 2022.
Timothy has attracted a lot of attention online with his candid and refreshing thoughts on marketing, with a professional following on LinkedIn of over 53,000. Timothy states that, whilst all of his campaigns have been important, the one he was most proud of is the support they offered the UK government during the COVID-19 pandemic:
“The campaign we did for Public Health England on getting young people vaccinated, was incredibly important to me.”
Timothy and Fanbytes also built Europe’s first ever TikTok house (where a group of influencers lived and worked) which grew to over 30 million followers, and landed brand partners like Rubik’s, Compare the Market and Boohoo.
As well as being named in Forbes 30 Under 30 list, Tim was also named the Black British Person of the Year 2018 – becoming the youngest person to date to do so – the Social Day Personality of the Year, Most Influential People in Advertising 2019, The Drum’s Social Media Rising Star 2020 and Entrepreneur of the Year 2020 at the Tech Achievement awards.
